Applications from these 29 organizations will be reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges for further consideration. From these finalists, the judges will select ten companies to receive the following honors at the 27th Annual Gathering of Games Conference September 4-6:

Rookie of the Year (1): This award recognizes a company that has been practicing open-book management and The Great Game of Business for less than two years, but has achieved remarkable results.

All-Star Champions (6): The cornerstone of the All-Star Awards, the winners of the All-Star Achievement Award are the best of the best. They have been playing GGOB at a high level for two or more years, and as a result have seen impressive results in their financial performance and their company culture.

Hall of Fame Inductee (1): The Hall of Fame Award honors an organization that has operated using the principles of open-book management for more than a decade with lasting, proven results and has demonstrated a willingness to spread the word on open-book management in order to help others succeed.

Social Sector Champion (1): This award honors a social sector organization - not-for-profit, education, government - playing the Great Game of Business at a high level... proving that The Game can be effective and impactful to all types of organizations.

The People's Choice (1): This award provides the opportunity for the Great Game community to vote for who they thought was the best All-Star company this year in our People's Choice Poll.

Each of the 29 members of our All-Star Team will be highlighted at the Gathering of the Games conference in September and in a case study about their GGOB implementation. The Champions, the best of the best, will be invited onto the main stage at our conference to be recognized with a short video celebrating their amazing accomplishments.

The inspiration for the All-Star Awards came from the pioneers of open-book management themselves, created by everyday business people much like you.  Companies who excel in playing The Game know it's not just about generating profits, cash and wealth but also about distributing it for the good of everyone involved. The Game starts with a sincere belief in people along with fostering trust and mutual respect. The companies recognized as Great Game All-Stars embody these concepts to the fullest. All-Star companies show tenacious dedication to open-book management and business transparency and continually spread the word to help others succeed as well.

About The Great Game of Business

Our approach to running a company was developed to help close one of the biggest gaps in business: the gap between managers and employees. We call our open-book approach The Great Game of Business. What lies at the heart of The Game is a very simple proposition: The best, most efficient, most profitable way to operate a business is to give everybody in the company a voice in saying how the company is run and a stake in the outcome. Let us teach you how to develop a culture of ownership, where employees think, act and feel like owners.
