Karl was born and raised in North Idaho and currently resides in Eastern Washington with his wife and two daughters. As a family they enjoy hiking, chasing waterfalls, skiing and vacationing on the Oregon Coast. In 2004 he earned degrees in Accounting and Human Resource from the University of Idaho and furthered his education earning an MBA with a finance emphasis from Gonzaga University in 2009. In 2012, Karl completed the requirements to be a CPA and has maintained an active license in Washington State.
Karl started his career while still in school as a finance intern for the City of Moscow, Idaho and upon graduation started as an accountant for a local grocery retailers. His career took him on a journey working as an accountant, manager, controller, CFO and CEO with a brief stint as an internal consultant. He gained extensive experience in grocery retail, manufacturing and construction. Twenty plus years of experience has brought a broad base of knowledge in accounting, HR, IT, risk management and general business.
Karl's passion throughout his career has been finding operational and reporting efficiency and teaching financial literacy to employees, peers, and business leaders. Having worked for many years in an open book company coupled with the passion to educate others on business financials, Karl decided to shift his career focus and become a Great Game of Business Coach.
