THE BUSINESS BUILDER
Brenda Wilbur’s coaching is rooted in lived experience: before she ever coached a company, she ran one. In the early 1990s, she served as a partner and COO at a small systems-integration firm in Massachusetts. The company was ambitious yet stuck, with revenue hovering around $100,000.
Believing that growth would come from transparency rather than from working harder, Brenda implemented the Great Game of Business® as a discipline rather than merely a philosophy. The results were dramatic: over five years, the company grew from $150,000 to $5 million in revenue and became a four-time Inc. 500honoree. Later, when she and her husband launched a residential construction company, they applied the same principles to weather the 2008 recession without laying off a single employee.
THE TEACHER
While working with business teams, Brenda noticed a consistent barrier tosuccess: fear. She realized that smart, committed people often held back becausethey didn't understand the financials well enough to contribute confidently. Ratherthan work around that gap, Brenda leaned into it.
She earned her MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts and became a licensed educator, teaching math and business at the high school and college levels for nearly eighteen years. That experience sharpened her ability to meet people where they are and demystify complex ideas—building their confidence before demanding change.
THE COACH
Today, as a certified Great Game of Business coach, Brenda brings her uniqueblend of operator and teacher to her clients. She prides herself on beingapproachable and often does her best work behind the scenes so others can shine.
Brenda excels as a key ally and coach, focusing her efforts on elevating and highlighting the talents and potential of dynamic organizational leaders at every level. Whether spending extra time with frontline staff who have never had financial training or helping teams design simple bonus plans, her goal is to build capabilities that last long after she leaves.
OFF THE CLOCK
Brenda lives just west of Atlanta with her husband. Her personal mission mirrors her professional one: helping people move from where they are to where they want to be without stumbling through the middle. A three-time Grammy, she visits her two sons and their families in Austin, Texas, and Orlando, FL, as often as possible.
Outside of coaching, Brenda is an avid quilter. Drawn to the craft’s structure and geometry, she sees a fitting parallel to her work with organizations: taking disparate patterns and pieces and bringing them together into something durable, cohesive, and more beautiful than the parts could ever be on their own.
